This is moderate trek that pass through the driest regions of Nepal. Till 1992 Upper Mustang is a restricted area for foreign visitors to enter the kingdom, which makes it the most conserved region in the world. At the time, the region was also called with names “The Forbidden City.” Now mustang offers different attractions to Visitors in terms of easy accessibility with standard tea house accommodation, dry and barren landscape, culture lifestyle and customs.

The Upper Mustang Trekking 17 days begins with drive to Pokhara followed by next day flight to Jomsom and gradual three hours ascent towards Kagbeni, lead up to Lo Manthang via Chele, Syanbochen, Ghami and Charang. In between explore hundred of years monasteries, awe inspiring scenic landscape, historical places and unique culture. The routes on the trek pass through Kali Gandaki, the deepest valley in the world. Lo Manthang is the old capital, which is reached after 6 days trek from Pokhara and we believe that at least one extra day should be spent here to acclimatization. Ponies are available for hire if you desire to explore around Lo Manthang. Till this date, we can observe this traditional Buddhist Kingdom the way it was all the back when founded in the 14th century. As we return we will visit the holy temple of Muktinath which is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhist.

Upper Mustang Trek is great option to visit during Pre-monsoon months June, July, August and Post-monsoon October, November as the region is in the rain shadow region. Before trek was only accessible in the camping mode but now basic tea houses have made it easier for trekkers to get their meals and accommodation. But Pre-monsoon is the best because of the Tiji festival. Minimum two group of trekkers are required for Upper Mustang trekking. As, individual trekkers are not allowed to enter above Kagbeni.
