Jomsom Muktinath Trekking begins in Kathmandu, where you will get ample opportunity to visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites and shopping necessary things you might need for your trip. Nextly, Drive to Pokhara along the banks of the Trishuli River, traditional villages, terraced field and have some fantastic picturesque views to the Himalayan Range. Initially, trek starts with a 20 minutes flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. We will trek along the Kali Gandaki River which is the deepest gorge on earth and to Muktinath Temple via Kagbeni. Muktinath is a Vishnu temple, venerated sacred place to both Hindus and Buddhists in Nepal. Muktinath Temple word is derived from Mukti and Nath. “Mukti” means “Salvation or Nirvana” and “Nath” mean “God or Master”.
The trail pass through Jharkot and Khingar villages with came across the typical Tibetan architecture to Marhpa Village. It is just one of the interesting villages of orchards on the route. The houses of the village have flat roofs and whitewashed walls. As village is famous for Apple garden, do not miss to eat Apple Pie and Apple Juice. Further from Marphpa we walk to Tatopani via Ghasa. Rest aside and dip in the rejuvenating hot spring. Leaving the Kali Gandaki behind us we will came across the lush rhododendron forest, terrace field and mountainside in front of us which take us to Poonhill. Grab a cup of tea and catch breathtaking views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Dhampus Peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna including Mt. Machhapuchare, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Lamjung and many more. Afterward, We descend to the Banthanti, then turn off to Tadapani and drive back to Pokhara via Nayapul.
As the trail pass by you will experience two types of landscape which are Tibetan plateau landscape in Jomsom Muktinath area and dense forest areas of Poonhill.
