The day begins early as we leave Chhukung and go for Island Peak Base Camp. With headlamps lighting the way, the climb from Base Camp to High Camp (5,600m) is steep and demanding, taking you through rocky trails and narrow passages. As you gain altitude, the air grows thinner, but the anticipation of reaching the summit keeps your spirits high.

From High Camp, the real challenge begins. You will traverse the Imja Glacier, strapping on crampons and relying on fixed ropes to navigate the icy terrain. The climb becomes more technical as you approach Crampon Point (5,700m), where the glacier’s icy surface demands careful footing. The final push to the summit involves scaling a near-vertical ice wall, a 45-50 degree incline that tests your strength and determination. With the support of your guide and the safety of harnesses and ice axes, you’ll make a steady ascent.

Standing atop Island Peak (6,189m) is a moment you will never forget.
