Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek is one of the popular trekking in Everest region that takes you through the Namche Bazaar, Tengboche monastery and finally to the foot of towering Aba Dablam. These itinerary offers leave you fascinating with culture, adventure and world class mountain view. The name Ama Dablam means ’mother and necklace’ – the perennial hanging glacier resembles a ‘dablam’, which is a piece of traditional jewellery worn by Sherpa women.

The journey begins with your arrival in Kathmandu followed by Himalayan flight to Lukla. We follow the trail to the sherpa village of Namche and proceed further up to Pangboche. Leaving Phakding village, route consists of a number of high suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River that lead us to village of Monjo, entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. We will also spend a day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize and appropriate adaptation with the environment at the height. Where you can choose to hike to Kunde Hospital set up by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1966 A.D in Kunde Village or highly recommended walk up to the world’s highest-situated airport, Syangboche Airport, and Everest View Hotel. As soon as you leave Namche, Ama Dablam is the mountain that you see all along the way. You will visit the world’s famous Tengboche monastery which will be a stroke of luck to any trekker looking for a spiritual experience. Exploring around the Tengboche you will continue walk Crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola and passing the Mani stones ultimately leads to Pangboche. We will have Afternoon Acclimatization time at Pangboche and prepare for tomorrow’s walk to base of Ama Dablam, world’s most beautiful mountains.

Walk from Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp offers divine beauty and exciting experience. If you are lucky enough, you might Himalayan Thar, Yaks, Wild eagle and many more animals. As you trek further, the trail divides into two from one leading to the Everest Base Camp Trek trail through Dingboche and other one to Ama Dablam itself which appears closer. You can also see the spectacular views of Lhotse (8516m), Lhotse Shar (8382m), Nuptse (7879m), Lobuche peak (6090) and many more. As we walk, it becomes vividly stunning and Without even realiszing the time, we reach the base camp. You will find mountaineers camping here before their ascent of Ama Dablam. The view of Ama Dablam and hanging glacier appear just astonishing and spellbinding. A lot of up and down on this section, We have lunch in the Base camp and walk back to Pangboche.

After successful completion of Everest Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek, we head back to Lukla via Phortse and Monjo Village, and finally take flight back to Kathmandu. In Kathmandu you will have time to explore around the Monkey Temple, Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa or relax in Hotel. Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you are welcomed by the hospitable meeting and then you will be transferred to hotel. Kathmandu is the capital and largest metropolitan center, and well known city of temples, monasteries and shrines. Hotel is located at Thamel where numerous restaurants, bars and shops that cater everything you need. Relax and recover from jetlag at hotel. There will be a pre-trip meeting, so make sure to ask all the questions. You can take this opportunity to hire or buy any trekking equipment at market or explore the tourist colorful market Thamel Bazaar down Town. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

After an early morning breakfast at Hotel, we will drive to domestic terminal at Kathmandu Airport for flight to Lukla on Twin Otter aircraft. These 40 minutes flight duration offers outstanding views so, try to get a window seat on the left-hand side. Trekking starts from Lukla, we head towards Phakding (2,652 meters) passing the Cheplung village and bank of Dudh Koshi river with the amazing view of a beautiful mountain like Gongla, Nupla, Karyolung. On the trail, we cross couple of suspension bridges, several mani walls and stone, chorten, stupas and prayer flags. This first Day hike to Phakding is specifically designed for the purpose of acclimatization. Today's trek is relatively short around 3-4 hours. Overnight at Lodge in Phakding. After a Breakfast, We hit the trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar which is steady and steep incline with a few uphill and downhill climb. Today trekking route consists of a number of high suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River that lead us to village of Monjo, entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. At Monjo, our guide will complete the paperwork of permits and head on up to towards the Namche through Jorsalle. You will get the first glimpses of Mount Everest. Namche is a prosperous Sherpa town and the hub of everything. It is an important trading centre with a weekly Saturday local market. Overnight at Lodge in Namche Bazaar. At this point, we will spend a day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize and appropriate adaptation with the environment at the height. Today you will get a chance to adjust your body with the altitude. From hotels and restaurants to souvenirs and gifts shops, Namche Bazaar offers everything. Optionally, you can choose to hike to Kunde Hospital set up by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1966 A.D in Kunde Village or highly recommended walk up to the world's highest-situated airport, Syangboche Airport, and Everest View Hotel. If you have time, you can also visit the Sherpa Culture Museum. If you wish to take rest there is option available to spend time around the Namche shops, try some Himalayan bakery items with Coffee! or playing pool in Cafe Danfe. After brekfast at Namche Bazaar, We continue our trek towards Tengboche. The trail starts with first slightly climb up for a while up to the Chor camp, then continue easy level walk to kyangjuma. The trekking trail climbs steeply through pine forests and around Mani stones. The Journey to tengboche is accompanied with the rivers, hills and Himalayan peaks of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Ama Dablam and close view of Thamserku. Monastery open from 3 pm and it is good visit at their evening chanting by lamas. Get Sunset and Sunrise Views as well as magnificent view of the Mount Everest including other Himalayas form Tengboche. Trail also offers ample opportunity to spot wildlife musk deer, multi-colored pheasants and a herd of Himalayan Thar. Overnight at Lodge in Tengboche. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included)

Early in the Morning, Get the magnificent views of mountains and explore around the Tengboche Monastery. Afterward, continue our trail through Deboche by crossing the Imja Khola. Crossing a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola and Climb up passing the Mani stones ultimately leads to Pangboche by the lunch time. On the way, there is great vantage points of Ama Dablam. After Breakfast, We walk from Walk from Pangboche to Ama Dablam Base Camp. As you trek further, the trail divides into two from one leading to Dingboche and other one to Ama Dablam itself. After Breakfast at Pangboche we continue our trek to Phortse. Phortse is a farming village located at 3840m in the Khumbu Valley. It is part of alternative path to Everest base camp trek and best place to know the real image of Sherpa culture. These village also home to many Everest climbers. Overnight at Lodge in Phortse. After Breakfast, We continue walk back to Monjo through steeply down to the river at Photse Tenga. Further, Before reaching Mong La you will get the last view of Ama Dablam. We stop for lunch and continue to Monjo via Namche Bazaar. If you are tired there is option to stay at Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Lodge in Monjo. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Included)

After Breakfast, we begin our last day trek in Everest region. The trail from Monjo to Lukla is embellish with small monasteries and painted Mani walls. You will be passing through small sherpa settlements and descend to Chauri Kharka via Phakding. The trail after the long suspension bridge follows the up wards route as far as Chablung, then turns off towards Lukla. On arrival in Lukla, trekking ends. You can stretch up your sore legs and have a rest for a while and later stroll around the village, listening to the stories of the locals and experience their lifestyle. Overnight at Lodge in Lukla. Wake up early in the Morning, Enjoy your last breakfast in Mountain and get ready for flight back to Kathmandu. Indulge in the changing sight of the landscapes on these 45 minutes flight which offer thrilling experience for sure. On our touchdown at the Kathmandu airport, transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu. Free time on your own or want around the city, do shopping. In the evening, there will be a Farewell Dinner hosted by Aspiration Adventure to celebrate the successful completion of trek.

It's your last day in Nepal! Grab hygenic breakfast, then take last-minute shopping and explore around the market or relax at hotel in Kathmandu. Useful Information

Best Time to Trek

The best seasons for Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek are from Mid September to Mid November and from March to May. Generally, Nepal offers two best trekking season Spring and Autumn. During these time you will find moderate temperatures and provide better view of mountains, less heat haze cloud and clear views of mountains. In, summer coexist with the monsoon, making the trek trails wet and slippery, but the views of waterfalls are magnificent, though it is not suitable for everyone. In winter, the higher you go the colder it’s going to be. Above 4000 meters, you can expect snow and temperatures to descend rapidly below zero degrees. Be prepared for all weather conditions and have the right gear as there is always a risk of rain at lower elevations and Snow higher up during the trail.

Passport and Visa

If you are travelling to Nepal for (tour, sightseeing, travel, trekking, mountaineering, visiting friends and families) then you need to have a visa to enter Nepal. Arrival Visa is available at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu’s where you can simply get the “On Arrival Visa” with the application that require at least a passport of 6 months’ validity, and a passport size photo. You will be charged USD $ 30 for 15 days and USD $ 50 for 30 days as visa application fee which have to be paid in cash on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. For those tourists who have Indian and Chinese passports then you do not need a visa (Free Visa). Most visitors will be able to obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport. The Certain country (Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria) are requested to acquire Visa prior their arrival from their local Diplomatic missions (Embassies/Consulates) of Nepal Government.

Accommodation

Accommodate in mountain are simple in teahouse but it is standard, clean, comfortable lodge (teahouse) with great views of the mountain and sceneries. All the Accommodations are on twin sharing basis. However, Single Supplement can be provided upon request at additional cost. The rooms at mountain teahouses consist of nice and warm blankets, mattresses, pillows, bedsheets and attached bathrooms (not everywhere) and heated communal dining room. In Kathmandu, you will be accommodate at Standard 3 Star Hotel accommodation with breakfast inclusive.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is compulsory for AMA DABLAM BASE CAMP TREK. All the trekkers must provide the travel insurance policy certificate to Aspiration Adventure. This is high-altitude trek and quite challenging which means it comes with the risks of altitude sickness and and other unforeseen events. Travel Insurance policy must cover medical and emergency repatriation including helicopter rescue and evacuation expenses at high altitudes. In case of emergencies, we will be using the insurance policy and informational documents you sent us to operate the quick operation. Travel Insurance comes handy in these unexpected situations by covering all of the costs of treatments, medics, and helicopter rescue.
